Your first project

This walkthrough takes one document from upload to a downloaded translation. It uses the defaults everywhere, translates with machine translation, and has you review the result yourself. You need an account first.

  1. On the dashboard, select New Project. Leave the project type on Standard.

  2. On the Project Info step, enter a project name and a deadline, then select Upload Files.

  3. Drag your document onto the upload box, or click it to browse. Common formats work — DOCX, PDF, XLSX, PPTX, ODT, TXT, XLIFF and more.

  4. Set the Source language by typing its name or code — or select Detect to let the platform identify it.

  5. Under Add target language, add each language you want the document translated into, then select Translation setup.

  6. The translation setup step is fully optional — the defaults (the recommended MT engine, no attached resources) are fine for a first project. Select Create.

The last step, Assign translators, is where you would normally pick people and send offers. For a first project, keep it to yourself:

  1. Either select your own entry in the translators list (marked (You)) and choose Assign Selected, or select Skip Assignment to decide later.

  2. Select Review & Confirm. A cost summary shows the estimated machine translation usage and any translator costs.

  3. Select Confirm & Activate.

Machine translation now fills each target language in the background.

From the dashboard, open the project (the Manage button) to reach its hub. The Overview tab lists your file with its word count and a progress bar per target language. A file becomes editable once it has finished processing.

On the Editor tab (or from the file list on Overview), select Open Editor next to a target language. The document is split into segments: the source text on one side, the machine translation on the other. Read through, fix what needs fixing, and confirm segments as you go — see Editor basics.

When the translation is ready, open the Delivery tab:

  1. Select Create translated files. The platform rebuilds the documents in their original format.

  2. Under Available downloads, select Download next to each file.

That’s the whole loop: upload, translate, review, download. From here, the project creation chapter covers every option you skipped, and the project hub chapter explains each tab.
